Yuan-ti Mind WhispererMedium monstrosity (shapechanger yuan ti)
Magic Resistance. The yuan-ti has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Mind Fangs (2/day). The first time the yuan-ti hits with a melee attack on its turn, it can deal an extra 16 (3d10) psychic damage to the target.
Spellcasting (Yuan-ti form only). The yuan-ti mind whisperer’s spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 13, +5 to hit with spell attacks). It has 4 mana, a mana limit of 1, regains all expended mana when it finishes a long rest and regains half its total mana when it finishes a short rest. It knows the following spells:
At will: animal friendship (snakes only)
1 mana: agonizing rebuke, call to mind, confusion poison, confusion, detect poison, dissonant whispers, ego whip, envenomed weapon, haze senses, hideous laughter, hypnotize, meld mindcrystal, mind over body, mind spike, mind trap, misdirection, poison burst, protection from poison, psychic fortress, putrefy food and drink, ray of sickness, sending, sense minds, slowing poison, thought shield, toxic fumes, wandering mind
Sseth’s Blessing. When the yuan-ti reduces an enemy to 0 health, the yuan-ti gains 9 temporary health.
Variant: Chameleon Skin. The yuan-ti has advantage on Stealth checks made to avoid being noticed.
Variant: Shed Skin (1/long rest). Once on its turn, the yuan-ti can shed its skin to free itself from a grapple, shackles, or other restraints. If the yuan-ti spends 1 minute eating its shed skin, it regains health equal to half its maximum health.
Bite (1/turn). Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 1 m. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) poison damage.
Scimitar (Yuan-ti form only). Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 1 m. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage.
Dagger (Yuan-ti form only). Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 1 m. or range 3/10 m. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) piercing damage.
Change Shape (1/turn). The yuan-ti can polymorph into a Medium snake or back into its true form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn’t transformed. If it dies, it stays in its current form.
No concoctions, maneuvers, or spells
All monsters in this system should have maneuvers or spells. You should add some maneuvers or spells to this monster. If you do so, please make a suggestion on github so I can finish adding maneuvers and spells to all monsters via https://github.com/mlenser/kryx-rpg-issues/issues/9
