Living Shadow. While in dim light or darkness, the dragon has resistance to damage that isn’t force, psychic, or radiant.

Maneuvers. The young red shadow dragon uses maneuvers (maneuver save DC 19). It has 18 stamina dice which are d8s, a dice limit of 4, regains all expended stamina dice when it finishes a long rest and regains half its total stamina dice when it finishes a short rest, and knows the following maneuvers:

1 stamina die: dive attack, fearsome beast, fountain of blood, knockback (Claw only), spring attack, stalking shadow, swipe (Claw only)

2 stamina dice: frenzy

Shadow Stealth. While in dim light or darkness, the dragon can take the Hide action as a bonus action.

Spellcasting. The young red shadow dragon is a 16th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 17, +9 to hit with spell attacks). It has 6 mana, a mana limit of 2, regains all expended mana when it finishes a long rest and regains half its total mana when it finishes a short rest, and knows the following spells:

Cantrips (at will): cauterize wound, control flames, control shadow, frighten, gloom, produce flame

1 mana: ash fall, blindness/deafness, burning hands, command, darkness, fear, fiery rebuke, five shadows, flaming sphere, heat metal, immolation, pass without trace, rising phoenix, scorching bolts, shadow jaunt, shadow tendrils, shadow veil, shadowy reprisal, unseen servant

2 mana: animate shadow, cloak of shadows, eyebite, fireball, flame bane, incendiary cloud, minute meteors, molten upheaval, shadow form, shadow walk, shadowy creation

Sunlight Sensitivity. While in sunlight, the dragon has disadvantage on attack rolls, as well as on Perception checks that rely on sight.

Actions

Multiattack. The dragon makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 3 m. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) piercing damage plus 3 (1d6) necrotic damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 1.5 m. Hit: 13 (2d6 + 6) slashing damage.

Shadow Breath (Recharge 5–6). The dragon exhales shadowy fire in a 9-meters cone or a 14-meters line that is 1.5 meters wide. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Reflex saving throw, taking 56 (16d6) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A humanoid reduced to 0 health by this damage dies, and an undead shadow rises from its corpse and acts immediately after the dragon in the initiative count. The shadow is under the dragon’s control.
