Rug of SmotheringLarge construct
Antimagic Susceptibility. The rug of smothering is incapacitated while in the area of an antimagic field. If targeted by dispel magic, the rug of smothering must succeed on a Fortitude saving throw against the caster’s spell save Difficulty or fall unconscious for 1 minute.
Damage Transfer. While it is grappling a creature, the rug of smothering takes only half the damage dealt to it, and the creature grappled by the rug of smothering takes the other half.
False Appearance. While the rug of smothering remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary rug.
Maneuvers. The rug of smothering uses maneuvers (maneuver save Difficulty 13). It has 5 stamina dice which are d8s, a dice limit of 1, regains all expended stamina dice when it finishes a long rest, and regains half its total stamina dice when it finishes a short rest. It knows the following maneuvers:
At will: grapple
1 stamina die: spring attack
Smother. One Large or smaller creature within 1 meter of the rug of smothering must succeed on a Difficulty 13 Reflex saving throw or be grappled (escape Difficulty 11). Until the grapple ends, the target takes 10 (3d6) bludgeoning damage at the start of each of its turns. While grappled in this way, the target is restrained, blinded, and at risk of suffocating. The rug of smothering can smother only one creature at a time.
As an action, make a melee weapon attack and a Brawn check to grapple the creature.
You can add the stamina die to the attack’s damage (add half on a miss by 4 or less) for each additional stamina die expended.
As an action, you can use the Dash action. If you move at least 3 meters straight toward a creature, you can make a melee weapon attack against it.
On a hit, add the stamina die to the attack’s damage.
On a critical hit, add twice as much damage.
On a miss by 4 or less, add half as much damage.
You can increase the damage for each additional stamina die expended.
